Almost a decade after The Heirs released, Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik are in talks to reunite for a new medical-themed K-drama. The actors have reportedly been offered the lead roles in the K-drama Doctor Slump (literal title). If they accept the roles, this will be their first drama in which they will be cast opposite each other. How we wish Lee Min-ho was involved as well!

Both their agencies have confirmed that the actors have been offered the role. Via Soompi, Park Shin Hye’s agency SALT Entertainment said, “Park Shin Hye has received the offer to star in Doctor Slump and she is positively reviewing the offer.” Park Hyung Sik’s agency P&Studio also said, “He is positively reviewing the offer to star in Doctor Slump.”

If accepted, Park Shin-hye will be seen playing the role of Nam Ha-neul while Park Hyung-sik would play Yeo Jung-woo. The rom-com story revolves around two doctors who live in a rooftop house after having quitting their jobs at the hospital.

If not in a pivotal role, we hope Lee Min-ho and Kim Woo-bin at least make a cameo if Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik agree to do the show.

Meanwhile, it has been a big year for Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik. Park Shin-hye tied the knot earlier this year with her long-term boyfriend Choi Tae-joon. The actors welcomed their first child a few months later. If she accepts the role, this will be her first series since she got married and welcomed her baby.

On the other hand, Park Hyung-sik has starred in two talk-about shows in recent months. He was seen in Happiness, in late 2021 with Han Hyo-joo. His performance and their chemistry won fans over. He was then seen with Han So-hee in Soundtrack #1. The musical also received love from fans.

Both of their agencies responded to the casting reports. According to Park Shin Hye's agency Salt Entertainment, the actress is positively considering the casting offer. Park Hyung Sik's side also commented and revealed that the idol actor is also reviewing the k-drama positively.

Doctor Slump is a romantic comedy series that will tell the stories of doctors who are currently experiencing slumps. The K-drama will showcase how they will resuscitate and return to their lives. 

Park Shin Hye received the offer to play the role of Nam Ha Neul. Park Hyung Sik got the offer to star as Yeo Jeong Woo. 

If ever Park Hyung Sik decided to star in the series, this will be his first ever doctor character since his debut. Meanwhile, this will be the second time that Park Shin Hye will star in a medical series.

If Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik confirm their casting, this will be their reunion after 10 years. The two worked together as classmates in the 2013 hit series The Heirs. 

This will possibly be the comeback of Park Shin Hye in the K-drama world after getting married and giving birth. She last starred in the 2021 K-drama Sisyphus: The Myth. 2022 was a remarkable year for the actress as she got married in January and gave birth to her first son in May. 

Meanwhile, if Park Hyung Sik confirms his casting, this will be his second upcoming k-drama. He will also lead the upcoming series Youth, Climb the Barrier with Jeon So Nee, Yoon Jong Seok, Pyo Ye Jin, Lee Jong Hyuk, and Jung Shi Woo. He last starred in the 2022 Disney+ series Soundtrack #1. Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye have been confirmed as the leads for the upcoming medical rom-com K-drama that aims for a broadcast on JTBC. Called ‘Doctor Slump’ as per its literal translation, the story seems to be following the classic ‘haters to lovers’ storyline. It was also confirmed that actors Yoon Bak and Gong Sung Ha will be joining the cast lineup.

The story aims to follow two successful doctors who are going through a period of a slump after having been on an unstoppable journey. They start off as people who hate each other’s guts but slowly find comfort in the relatable and similar life experiences they have had up until that point. On their path to happiness, they will surprisingly share high as well as low moments as neighbours and friends, turning into more soon after.

Park Hyung Sik is set to play Yeo Jung Woo who used to be a star plastic surgeon but ends up in a slump after working hard all his life. He used to be the top student in his medical school and exercised his skills with great reform for his character, becoming everyone’s beloved. A mysterious accident puts brakes on his success story and he falls into a slump. Park Shin Hye will be embodying an anesthesiologist named Nam Ha Neul who is going through her own burnout after being nicknamed a genius all her life. Work-life balance up in the air, she was used to only working and studying which she decides to change one day after taking a long look at her experiences so far.
